Alicia Soto | And You, Who Do You Bring?
And You, Who Do You Bring? is a transdisciplinary laboratory-performance combining theater, dance, and music. This project is a unique experience of gathering, collective creation, and expression—an artistic celebration of identity and memory, of the body and imagination, of exchange and transformation. Thirteen NYC-based performers and community members join this collaboration with Alicia Soto and Dance Entropy’s Artistic Director, Valerie Green.
Felicia B Avalos | The Gods Are Laughing At Us: The Ongoing Water Crisis in México
The Gods Are Laughing At Us: The Ongoing Water Crisis in México was created during the Unity Space AiR in Melbourne, Australia in 2017. This project focuses on different aspects of the water crisis from a fusion of a rain dance with a Muay Thai boxing ritual fighters practice in the ring before a match, to how the drought affects a farmer’s crops, to the sinking of Mexico City. During the residency, Avalos trained in MMA to merge fighting techniques and contemporary dance to share this topic. This research is to honor Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec Empire, before it was conquered by the Spanish, and to Tláloc, the Aztec rain god.

Skimming the Surface: Movement Healing Workshops aim to service adult and youth populations that may be overcoming diverse forms of trauma and stress through somatic based expressive movement exercises. These workshops will help participants release blocked and repressed energy causing stress or discomfort in one’s life by integrating movement, feelings, and emotions.
Each movement journey is handcrafted to best support the participants. Green serves as a guide to help open doorways where each individual will do their personal work, leading them to a heart centered and intuitive place, finding a physical expression and release of emotions and energy whereby a healing process can begin.
Inspired by shamanic journeying and altered states of consciousness, this electrifying healing ceremony is a meditative ritual celebrating the human experience. Six powerful male dancers surrender to instinct, moving through a trance-like ritual that blurs the line between isolation and connection. Through movement, Rite offers a unique opportunity to contemplate your humanity, ignite a release of what weighs you down, and emerge with a newfound clarity: a personal and collective spiritual catharsis. Witness the intensity of energy, surrender to the movement, and dynamically explore the profound connections between body and soul.

Valerie Green/Dance Entropy is excited to be presented by the 8th ARTSinTANK Dance Festival in Korea (ADFK). Artistic Director Valerie Green will be performing WOMB on July 5th, 2025, at the M Theater.
WOMB realistically channels the fluid movements of a fetus in the amniotic sac, alongside previously recorded projections of the dancer on three planes of vision. The inspiration for the piece came from an image of being inside the womb during somatic practices. The movement is inspired by this idea and developed into more full-bodied action recorded in a three-camera shoot. The projection footage is juxtaposed alongside live performance of very minimal fetus like movement inside the red fabric womb on stage in front of the video projection. The video footage was created in collaboration with Rodney Zagury.

In this facilitated group, we find ways of supporting the unique needs of each member, while also learning to more effectively relate to others. We learn to be seen for who we really are, and see others as they are. We find healing where we may have felt pain or disconnection from the self. We find insight, awareness and courage to break and move past old patterns that no longer serve us. The group sessions utilize Core Energetics, an approach that engages group members through body, dialogue and awareness. Group sessions include shared movement and expressive work, and opportunities for members to process individual issues and struggles they would like guided support in working through.
