Loss & Desire

Loss and Desire is a solo danced through a voyage of the four elements using water, dirt, and fire.  Air is represented by the movement and fire by a stunning installation of forty feet of red fabric.  The past is left behind and buried, the future is planted for renewal and rebirth in which the passion and desire of life can be felt. Read Village Voice Review.

The imagery and text was motivated by the book “Death and the Dervish” by Bosnian Muslim author Mesa Selimovic about the Ottoman occupation of Bosnia.
