About the work:

The dances are bold, at times untraditional. They have included dancing in buckets of water, performers spitting stones, bodies birthed out of fabric cocoons, and dancers perched on platforms in six-foot costumes. Themes explored include examining rites of passion, traditions of culture, and notions of self. By intertwining extreme exploration of human behavior, the movement creates a visible friction. The dynamic images feature unexpected interactions and physical power alongside feminine sensuality. Visually theatrical, the dances have included various uses of fabric, props, and video. The music's range is eclectic: traditional, ethnic, electronic or abstract sound scores.

Inexplicable Space

Inexplicable Space inspired by one curious fortune received after a Chinese dinner took off into an abstract stream-of-consciousness work developed from over 50 fortunes and 48 lucky numbers from fortunes cookies. The result is a mysterious, odd collection of movements and encounters amidst an installation of steaming crystal balls and flying orbs.
