About the work:

I make dances that are bold, at times untraditional.  They have included dancing in buckets of water, performers spitting stones, bodies birthing out of fabric cocoons, and dancers perched on platforms in six-foot costumes. The themes I explore include examining rites of passion, traditions of culture, and notions of self.  By intertwining extreme explorations of human behavior, my movement creates a visible friction.  I create dynamic images that feature unexpected interactions and physical power alongside feminine sensuality.  Visually theatrical, my dances include various uses of fabric, props, and video. I choose an eclectic range of music that may include traditional, ethnic, electronic, or abstract sound scores.
